Privacy policy

The short version
MathGym is made for children, so we collect as little as possible - in practice, nothing about you or your child. There are no accounts, no cookies and no personalized ads. Game progress stays on your device. We count page views without cookies and without storing IP addresses. If you write to us, we receive your message.
Who is responsible
The website mathgym.fun is operated by MathGym, Ukmergės g. 369, LT-12107 Vilnius, Lithuania. Contact for privacy questions: info@mathgym.fun.
No accounts and no personal data
You can use every game, worksheet and diploma without signing up. We never ask for a child's name, age, e-mail, photo or location. The name on a diploma is typed on the screen only: it is used to show and print the diploma in your browser, and it is not sent to us or stored.
What is stored on your device (localStorage)
To remember progress, the site saves a small record in your browser's local storage (the key mg:v1): stars per
game, best speed-test results, the date last played, the list of facts to work on, earned stickers and your settings
(sound, answer mode, timer, a closed language bar). This record stays on your device; we cannot see it, and it is not
sent anywhere. You can delete it at any time with the button below, on the help page, or by clearing your browser data.
No cookies
MathGym sets no cookies, so there is no cookie banner. Local storage is used only for the progress described above, which you asked for by playing.
Statistics without cookies
We use a privacy-friendly, cookie-less analytics service to count how often each page is visited, from which site visitors came, which browser and operating system they use (read from the browser's user agent, which is not kept), and whether a page view is the first of a visit (a temporary flag held in memory, without a cookie, not stored). It does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses and does not build profiles of visitors. We only see totals, such as "the 7 times table page had 500 visits today". The service is GoatCounter, which we run ourselves on our own server, rented from King Servers in the USA, so no third party receives the data. The server's access log keeps only a shortened IP address (IPv4: last number removed; IPv6: everything after the first 32 bits removed), the time, the page requested (without the query string), the status, size and duration - no browser details, no referrer, no cookies - and is deleted after 7 days. Our server also keeps a technical error log for 7 days; an error message can contain the full IP address of the request that caused it. It is used only to fix the problem and is deleted automatically. The server is located in the USA, so these data (the server logs and the analytics counts) are stored in the USA.
Ads
There are no ads inside the games. If we show ads in the future, they will be contextual and non-personalized only, with the setting for child-directed content turned on, never inside the game area, on the end screen, in fullscreen or in projector mode. We would update this page before that happens.
Share links
A share link (for example from the teachers page) contains only game settings, such as the tables and the number of questions. It contains no names and no results, and nothing is sent back when someone plays it.
Contact by e-mail
There is no contact form: you can write to us by e-mail at info@mathgym.fun. We then receive your e-mail address and what you write. Apart from the server logs described above, e-mails are the only personal data that reach us, and they may come from a child. We use them only to answer you, delete the e-mail when it is no longer needed to answer, never add your address to a mailing list, and never sell or share it. Please do not write children's names or other personal details in the message.
Children
The site is meant for children of about 4 to 11 together with their parents and teachers. Apart from an e-mail someone sends us, which is used only to answer and then deleted, we do not collect personal information from children, so the site is designed to be compatible with the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and with the rules for children's data in the EU and UK GDPR (Article 8). If you believe a child has sent us personal information by e-mail, tell us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you have the right to ask what data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to complain to a data protection authority. Our lead authority is the State Data Protection Inspectorate of Lithuania (Valstybinė duomenų apsaugos inspekcija, L. Sapiegos g. 17, LT-10312 Vilnius, Lithuania, www.ada.lt); you can also complain to the data protection authority of your own country. As we hold no data about you apart from the server logs described above (deleted after 7 days) and e-mails sent to us, a request usually concerns only those. Write to info@mathgym.fun.
Other websites
Links to other websites are rare and never inside the games. Other websites have their own privacy rules.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
